The Juris Doctor (JD) degree is a graduate law degree that may lead to qualification for the practice of law in Singapore. At NUS, you may select from one of two JD programmes: (i) a 2-year single graduate degree programme for candidates holding a basic law degree from another jurisdiction; or (ii) a 3-year single graduate degree programme for candidates holding a non-law degree.
In our flagship Master of Laws (LLM) by coursework programme, a wide variety of modules is available, taught by the most highly-qualified academic faculty. All students are enrolled as Master of Laws (LLM) candidates, with the option to pursue specializations in a variety of areas such as Asian Legal Studies, Corporate & Financial Services Law, Intellectual Property & Technology Law, International Arbitration & Dispute Resolution, International & Comparative Law and Maritime Law.

Summary

The 3-year JD will replace the Graduate LLB (GLB) programme, and it can be completed in 2.5 years in exceptional circumstances.
